TIKTOK

There is a livestream running in one of these tabs above while i write. My colleague Chris is presenting our study on political communication on TikTok (PDF) in a launch event by Rosa Luxemburg foundation. A year ago we started writing back and forth while i was on a hill in Italy to kick off the endeavour. Today i spoke to Deutschlandfunk Kultur about the study. It is only 24 pages, an easy read, and it includes a framework for further analysis and a handful of recommendations for parties, people and activists. 

Last October i summed up some things that lead to my TikTok engagement. A lot has happened ever since. I strongly recommend to jump on a topic of your choice in order to explore it to the max. My weekly newsletter became some sort of metronome, a steady reminder and reason to investigate various parts of the platform and it's ever evolving vast systems of culture and codes. Will i be into TikTok one year from now? I do not know. Currently it still feels like a relevant and interesting place to be.
