2022

For a split second i was not entirely sure what year will be next. 2024 sounded promising. I had to open my calendar app to check. It is 2022. Yet another year. As always a lot of stuff happened. Here are some random highlights:

Standing on a rooftop in Williamsburg, 4th of July listening to Sufjan Stevens, finding my research on WarTok being mentioned in a lot of media publications, including Wired, Le Figaro, Dagens Nyheter and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, discussing TikTok disinformation research at Mozilla Festival, being part of an expert group discussing Deepfakes and Synthetic Media, visiting the Memetic Tactility Conference in Amsterdam, consulting a political party, a foundation and several media companies around TikTok, working with journalists all over the planet especially Southern Africa, Pakistan, India and China.  

Oh, and after the research fellowship end of 2021 i finally managed to enroll as a phd student at University Münster. I set up Obsidian, connected it to Zotero and set up some folders to honor Luhmann's Zettelkasten. So i guess the journey yet again officially starts. Let's see how that goes.

• Digitale Bilderkämpfe: Workshop zur philosophischen und interdisziplinären Mem-Forschung (25. - 26. 11.2022) - Teilnehmer. Der von rechtsextremen Gruppierungen in zahlreichen Ländern wiederholt ausgerufene _meme war_ als metapolitische Strategie, zahllose in sozialen Netzwerken kursierende Meme im Kontext der Covid-19-Pandemie oder die memetische Kommunikation im Zusammenhang mit dem Krieg in der Ukraine sind fortlaufend Bestandteil medialer Berichterstattung und gesellschaftlicher Diskurse.
